I would suggest deciding what role you want to take either a healer, buffer, tank, dps(ranged or up close) or a debuffer.
If you decide a tank decide between a Palladian or a guardian fighter.
If your a healer go with either a scourge warlock temptation build a Oathbound Paladin - Oath of Devotion light build or a Devoted Cleric - Divine Oracle which everyone all ways wants in a group. Ps scourge warlock temptation build doesn't count as a main healer it's a off healer so that the main can debuff but it heals fantasticly well.
Dps
Scourge warlock, control wizards are your ranged.
Trickster rouge and great weapons fighters are your melee.
Hunter rangers are a combo of both they have ability to cross between melee and ranged with no effort inside of a battle giving them 6 moves rather than 3 but lowering the stats of either there range abilities or the up close combat.
Buffers are a little different all classes have group buffs depending on feats that are chosen by each class for instance my main is a scourge warlock and I use hadours grasp increase damage delt by 20% by allies for 5seconds and I can activate it every 10seconds and pillar of power increases dps by 12% to allies and 24% to my self as long as there standing in the green circle it also increases defence by 15% to allies and 30% to my self also depends on your feats and points placed in powers.
So no matter what class you chose you can be a buffer but if your a tank or a healer they are your main roles and must focus on those first.
Debuffing is another sub build all classes have debuffs some are more useful than others but all are helpful so read the feats and powers and you can decide what is best for you and your build I would suggest looking at this website to help you decide.

2nd leveling
do NOT power level you gain more xp power leveling with someone who is a 70 but you get 3 bags for doing the campaign and that will help greatly in progression in game.
3rd whilst you are leveling do your dungeons and skirmish and pvp 2x a day and refine your astral diamonds.
4th communicate with your guild if you require help or extra people for dungeons put it in guild chat I am always willing to help people and so are 85% of the guild ( I day 85% because the other 15% are alts that people have created and are just ad farming till they swap to there main again.)
5 VIP it's not a essential part of the game but there are ways to get it without spending any of your real cash check your AD(astral diamonds) and transfer it at the astral diamond exchange it's usually 300-350 ad per 1 Zen and you need 1000 Zen so any where from 300,000 - 350,000 AD without sells it's possible to make 36,000 a day so not impossible to do roughly 10days worth.
You get enchanted keys 1 day and you gain a bonus of VIP reward such as a salvage anvil and a travel sign post saves alot of time and you get a free bag for rank 1 and a companion not great but something to start with.
5 if you don't like your powers you have put points in or feats don't delete your character simply respec for 300zen or 90k-105k ad
6 remember your daily campaigns once you hit 60 do sharander and elemental evil and so on.
7 refine your enchantmets get them things up as fast as you can they rank from 1 to 12 but the best things to rank up first are bonding stones they give you the stats of your companion at rank 12 how ever they give you 300% of your companions stats and 800+ power or defence each
8 ENJOY THE GAME
LUDA will more than likely lol
